Magazine ad from 1941 when it was made in San Antonio, TX
Glass bottle when manufactured in San Antonio, TX circa 1960'sA Little Info About Gebhardt's Chili Powder
Quite simply, the very best. And it deserves to be. They have been providing Tex-Mex spices and foods for over 116 years. This is definitely one of the key secrets to making authentic San Antonio style Tex-Mex foods such as chili con carne sauce, pinto beans, Spanish rice and especially plain 'ol Texas Red !! Conagra Foods discontinued the 5 lb Institutional size in Feb. of 2012. That is how we were able to offer the 1 lb. size. We believe the 3 oz size will be discontinued by the end of this year. We have a San Antonio Spice Co. making this replacement for us and same as the Gebhardt's, NO SALT or MSG. This is the reason you cannot find anything on the store shelves that comes even close to the Gebhardt flavor-until now. Try our MeMaw's. It is! So close we offer a *MONEY BACK GUARANTEE*
