Time to calculate the final angle of the rafters.
Originally planned
to sit on top of the beam, the angle was too steep. DJ decided the
best solution is to split them at the beam.

DJ studying the final effect of the anticipated angle
of the 2"x 6" rafters and where they would stop.

2 hours later and DJ decides it is good to go !!
(Better to plan, plan, plan than build and have
to tear it all out, right DJ !!)

Once the 'North rafters' are 'good to go', now it's time
to calculate where the South rafters will need to sit.

All the planning and 'dry fitting' pays off as
the final slope is perfect !!

Time to cut the 'pattern' rafter then all the remaining
ones can be traced and duplicated.

South Florida Room rafters are done the same
way with a pattern being established, then all
the remaining ones to be traced and duplicated.

Blocks are nailed against the beam to hold the rafter
in place and to also act as blocking for the finish trim
boards. An additional 2"x 4" and a 1"x 4" cap are
added to the top of the beam so the rafters will be on
the same plane.
