Aunt Alice's Spiced Pecans
(from Alice Ziehr)

Aunt Alice Ziehr is without a doubt one of the best cooks in our family.  She still
makes the best pear pie with a golden crust from scratch.  This at 90+ years young!!
Here is the coveted recipe for her other 'patented' recipe-Spicy Pecans.  These are
very addicting and will spoil your meal if served as an appetizer.

Ingredients:
1 large egg white
1 tbl. water
1 lb. Pecan halves
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg

Directions:
In a bowl, add the sugar, salt and cinnamon or nutmeg.
Mix the egg white and water and whip with a fork until 'frothy'.
Add the pecans to this mixture and gently stir to coat all the pecan pieces.
Take the pecans from the egg dip and mix into the Dry mixture until the
pieces are coated well.  Place nuts on a well buttered cookie pan and bake
for 1 hour at 225 degrees.  With a spatula, turn the pecans every 15 minutes.
Remove, let cool and store in an airtight container, unrefrigerated.

Serve in a small bowl and watch your guests 'wipe 'em out !!
